Security Risk Assessments

Designing out opportunities for crime to occur as part of the development application process.

Our Crime Risk Assessments (CRAs) incorporate the principles of CPTED and are based upon the NSW police ‘Safer by design’ guidelines, the guidelines under Section 79C of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, and the AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018 Risk management— Principles and guidelines.

Our CRAs include the following components:

  1. Conduct a risk assessment of the development (normally the subject of the development application) against the principles of CPTED.
  2. Stakeholder Liason (e.g. local police, architect, etc).
  3. Conduct a risk assessment in relation to the likelihood of crime occurring in the LGA and the local suburb based on current crime statistics.
  4. Provide a final report that complies with all aspects of the guidelines under Section 79C of the NSW Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.

Security Risk Assessments

Providing comprehensive and detailed security risk assessments.

Our Security Risk Assessments (SRAs) are undertaken in accordance with recognised and accepted risk management architecture (i.e. risk management principles, framework and processes) as prescribed by AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018, Risk management – Principles and Guidelines. We draw upon our experience and expertise to identify, analyse, evaluate, and recommend risk treatments in accordance with the clients' risk appetite and overall compliance requirements.

The SRA culminates with the production of a final report, which includes a detailed register of identified risks (based upon the agreed scope of work), risk evaluation (including the levels and risk treatment priorities), risk treatment recommendations, and a detailed risk treatment plan.
